WRT54GL - Tomato or DD-WRT?

Thread Starter
Just got a WRT54GL to replace the POS Actiontec installed with my FIOS. I'm looking for firmware recommendations. The two I'm considering are Tomato and DD-WRT, but I'm open to other possibilities. What do you recommend oh wise and powerful OCN?

My crippled router can only use DD-WRT...so I can't recommend Tomato...

I prefer DD-WRT. Tomato seemed kind of unfinished when I tried it.

What exactly is the point in doing this? What is wrong with the firmware that is already in place on these routers? Just wondering, because I use one as my main router.
