I have been looking around for a 1tb hdd, and I saw one for $68 on newegg today.

I was about to pull the trigger on this, but i thought it would be smart to come here first. Any reason to not get an open box compared to a oem? What is WD warranty policy for open box hdd's?

Also, what is the difference between the WD green and black editions?

here is the page i am looking at on newegg. which would you get?

I highly recommend WD Caviar Black models, they have excellent performance and reliability, and lie somewhere in between the Blue and Raptor models. The WD Green HD's use less energy (thus "green") but often have longer seek times or latencies.

Oh, and I get "open box" stuff on newegg at least four times and have never been disappointed! 3/4 times I even got all the original cables/software/etc. even though they said it wouldn't be included!
