vista x32 not booting

i recently tried to boot my computer and it will load the black vista loading screen and then freeze.
other times it wont even go that far.
ive tried the repair cd and it freezes when its loading
ive tried reinstalling the OS, clearing the overclock, reseting cmos.
any help will be appreciated.
p.s. this is my sig rig

It's x86.

Your HDD may be corrupted, or some bad RAM.

It just freezes, no BSOD? Have you tried booting into safe mode? Right after POST strike F8 usually until the menu pops up and try running in safe mode.

and ive tried safe mode it BSOD one time then the rest froze...
im gonna try to reseat the ram?

Are you sure your HDD isn't corrupt? Have you installed any other OS on the drive?

Also, try loading the Vista disk, then start the Installer then choose Advanced Options or System Recovery and choose the Command Prompt, then type in Fixmbr, and Fixboot

Then reboot your machine. It also seems like your HDD isn't set to Master or is having a problem becoming Primary.

If it won't even boot the CD, then that's a hardware problem.

Loading the files from CD has no HDD activity at all, it's all from the drive..

This is really odd.
Are you sure everything is connected properly?

Try doing a thorough check.

Is it a two 1GB sticks or one 2GB stick?

Trying using one stick at a time if you can, usually OS's/applications freeze due to bad RAM.
