Crashing in Team Fortress 2 and Left for Dead.

Hey I have a question guys... I have a lockup/freeze problem after about 2-3 minutes in both tf2 and left 4 dead. After about 2-3 minutes the game freezes for about 10 seconds or until I alt-tab out. Then when I renter the game(alt-tab back) it is running at about half performance. I have checked my evga precision program and it shows that my cards core clock speed is dropping to half speed. I don't have this problem in WoW however, and seem to be able to play indefinitely. This has happened on several versions and re-installations of windows, so I am suspecting that it's some kind of hardware fault, not drivers or windows install. Any ideas?

I think I am going to try reseat the video card and see what happens there. I did add a SSD recently and think that is maybe the problem.

Is the game installed on the SSD? Could that be the faulty unit?

Try a more demanding game, see if that matters. Sounds like the PSU to me. When it starts drawing more power she can't do it and you get a black screen. Then it settles down and can go again. But WoW isn't demanding at all. Try Far Cry 2 or Crysis or something. Even Cod4
