The Death of My X800

Thread Starter
Ahh.. Me an my X800 All-In-Wonder have had some great times.. Some great mods.. Some great overclocks.. Until today I was putting a modded BIOS onto the card to save me having to apply the OC every time I start up the PC. I had the wrong BIOS on the flash drive and oops! flashed to the XT BIOS.. Now the card is KIA . I tried to do the Pipeline mod to go along with the XT model but.. No luck. It's a damn shame too. So here I am. with a piece-o-junk Radeon 9200 SE sitting in my rig.. And a LAN party coming up at the end of the month..

So. Anyone know if there's and small chance of bringing my X800 back from the dead? I'm about 90% sure its fried but who knows..

Aside from that I'm looking for the highest quality Mobo with a PCI-E 16X slot and decent gaming GPU money can buy. I currently have no money at all and live in Canada but I may have about $50 (yes $50) by the end of Christmas... No job = no cash.

So. Let's see some links. I don't want too many Newegg.ca because its a small fortune for shipping. But hey.. Go ahead.

Any fellow OCN members looking to help out an active fellow member feel free to shoot a PM my way with any offers. I'll trade my mobo and some cash for a new mobo.

Now let me end this before I get too outta hand and off topic with this thread.

Just plug a PCI VGA card, and then reflash it using the same procedure, but with the correct bios. A bad bios flash, is not the dead of the card. I have given life to some cards reflashing them with the correct file.

When you reflash it, it doesn't matter that the card is "dead". It just doesn't boot, but if you reflash it, it will survive. A "dead" card, is just alive, but it doesn't load its BIOS. When you flash it, you write on that memory address, and reboot the PC.

You can find the BIOSes here:

Bad video card flashes are easy to recover from if you have a spare card lying around

Hey Paradox, didn't you make a crude shroud for your X800 like 2 weeks ago? I remember you saying that the card was on it's way out. Hopefully after I RMA my 9600GT, which is dieing, I'll have it up on Overclock.net for like 50. Good luck with your flashing of your bios!
