I completely disagree. The XP to Vista change was one of the largest to date.

you should read the above. Tons of things were changed from vista that don't necessarily surface to the user in day-to-day activites.

Dang....I was hoping these dx11 cards would be out a bit sooner beings that will be my next GPU upgrade and probably last upgrade on this PC before building a new rig in the next couple of years.

Beings it is not confirmed info, hopefully they will be out earlier and not later.

Edit: Might have to think about going to a gtx260/280 card or one of the newer ones getting released by spring.

I highly doubt DX11 games are coming that soon. By Valve's hardware surveys, most people still only have either a DX9 card, or are still running XP and thus cannot take advantage of DX10. Look up the actual numbers if you want. Valve has stated they will not consider making DX10 games until most people can take advantage of it, so I'm sure it will be the same with DX11. Maybe by the time DX11 cards and Windows 7 are out, people will just be getting DX10 cards.

I agree that DX11 will not be widespread, but I'm sure there will be a few DX11 games that come out shortly after DX11 is released. I think there were DX10 games out shortly after it was released (could be wrong). Valve may not implement DX10 or 11 anytime soon, but other companies will. If it is as great as they tell us it will be, maybe it will take off faster than DX10 did....not holding my breath though.

Yeah, so? Is XP compatible with DX10? Doesn't seem to stop anyone from playing recent games. It's just going to be another roadblock for developers having to code for DX9, 10, and 11, just to be able to access a reasonable portion of the market.

Which is why companys will probably start to drop DX9. For me I'll ride the vista train for a few more years before even thinking about wasting money on windows 7.
