Need 24" Display with Height, Pivot, Swivel & Tilt [max. $400]

Thread Starter
I will be ordering a new monitor as a christmas gift tonight and I need to decide which 24" screen I should get.... The budget is $400 and the requirements are that it needs Height, Pivot, Swivel & Tilt functionality. It will be used for some basic web design (photoshop/illustrator) and gaming. What do you recommend?

2407WFP - $399.99

2408WFP - $449.99

I know it's out of your price range, but the 2408 adds in more connections, better controls and a faster panel.

I'm actually located in Europe so the prices are a bit different here, I'd have to pay almost double the amount for the 2408WFP screen. I guess I don't really mind the panel as long as it's priced right and has the adjustable height.

The 2493HM has been on my radar for a while and I've read some reviews about it, I actually like this one a lot except there's been reports that it doesn't do 1:1 pixelmapping. The Acer B243W actually looks pretty nice and similar to the 2443BW which also has been on my radar for a while.

Does the 2443BW or B243W do 1:1 pixelmapping? I'm wondering how it stacks up against the 2493HM of which I know it doesn't do 1:1. I'd like to be able to connect a PS3 to the screen every once in a while without stretching the screen, although not totally necessary. The 2493HM looks a bit fancier and has HDMI input, but it's also €60 more expensive here in Europe. I can get the 2443BW for €260, the 2493HM for €320 and the B243W for €355. The prices are pretty sucky when compared to USD, I know.

What would you guys say? I think I'm gonna check out the stores tomorrow, do a bit of touching and smelling to stimulate my senses, perhaps that'll help me make my decision. I'm open to new suggestions as well but I think the above mentioned 3 screens should be appropriate enough, just not sure about the quality/functionality of each one.

Thanks for the help
