I can see where you are coming from. Having a "girl" or a "Significant" other is way too overrated. I don't mean any disrespect when I say this (to anyone that has one) but I find that you should put you first. If you are in school, put that first, get your High School Diploma and if you decide to go to College/University, complete that, get a decent job and set your life straight both personally and financially before you get a girl.

Yeah, at first glance, girls are going to look at how you look.

Not all of us are born Edward Cullens.
How would you feel if you were born with one eye, a square face, or even with no balls? Then you would have no choice to build yourself a brilliant robot girlfriend.

Or maybe you were just born "wierd" and thought differently, so differently that no girl could tolernate your unusual thinking. That is what I get a lot- girls like my looks but think I'm the wierdest person ever.

Not all of guys have good looks, luckily most of them make up back with intelligence and a sense of respect for their significant other.

Some good looking guys take hot girls for granted. Get with them, bang em and toss em.

Seriously, so what if he made it by himself and doesnt have a girlfriend? He's a genius to be able to make something so advanced. This has alot of potential uses and im sure will help make great strides in prosthetics and robotics.
I'm not doubting this man's intelligence one bit. You are absolutely correct, he is obviously very smart to have created the robot as he did.

But considering the fact he created an artificial being as a "companion" and is using it as such, I don't think it's too inapt to question the general health of such an endeavor (or the overall situation).

I don't think I should have said "the whole thing is really sad." I think a more appropriate response would have been "there are parts to this story that may be troubling." As I do admit there are parts to this story that have quite a bit of merit.

At least he doesn't have to worry about transmission of those viruses to him.
