I'd vote for GTA IV. It's graphics really are great provided you can play it on high settings.

On the PC - they are extremely detailed but the glitches at the moment really are unbearable for most. Not to mention lack of AA.

But for the console - I really must say - its impressive for such an open world like that to work so great.

My obvious vote would go to FC2 or Crysis (lame I know, but I call em how I see em).

Exactly. I'm not trying to bag on consoles, but they simply don't have the graphics power of a high-end gaming PC. I understand the title of "best graphics" is somewhat subjective; but when you have games that were designed for the PC (and subsequently take advantage of the superior hardware), giving the "best graphics" award to a console game just seems kind of oxymoronic, and contrary to reason.

I don't think PC games are always better, graphically - as there are some PC games that don't take full advantage of the hardware at hand. But I definitely agree that there should be a separate category, as there is usually at least some PC games out there that are graphically superior due to the aforementioned reasons.

Gears 2 looks great, but Warhead is out of its class.

Come on now, war is not colorful... Thats the whole theme of Gears of War. FC2 looks great but its character models are shallow and simplistic compared to Gears', the Gamespot review seems to agree - Crysis you do have a point there.

There is almost no difference at all. How they could choose this over other games like MGS4, Crysis Warhead, hell even Fallout 3 is beyond me. Gamespy sucks.

EDIT:
And its funny considering Gamespy does all the Crysis and Crysis Warhead networking.
Sorry but, theres a major difference between the two. You said yourself that you haven't 'touched your 360 in a year an a half', so you have to play it to appreciate it - Screenshots don't do it justice, although you can still see a huge difference... Heres a graphics comparison:

Note: Fallout 3 is a high resolution Oblivion

I don't think that they're better than crysis but they're different, crysis was made to look pretty on that tropical island with sun, snow and stuff, while GoW2 was designed to look grotesque with that destruction ambient and huge mosters...

You beat me to it.

I haven't played Gears 2. You're right Bizzare - but I have been with friends when they're playing it.

From that video alone (which I've seen before)- the only difference I could see it that...
-Much much brighter level(s)
-More enemies on screen
-More Detailed Environment Textures (the ground textures look better as he's shooting the Locusts running by on the ground as compared to the GoW1 scene where he is doing similar)
-When you cut an enemy in half with the chainsaw - the blood on the screen looks more real and the enemy actually gets cuts.

Thats about it. Thats not much of an improvement if you ask me and it pales in comparison to everything else. GoW2 does look better then R2. But, I wouldn't give it anymore then that.
