Now the front panel USBs on my Rampage cannot format a flash drive properly and the file errors are now plentiful. I worked my tail off to buy this sig rig and now I either have to live with the fact the front USBs are no longer reliable or send it off to ASUS and wait until they get it back to me.

Asus can do an Advance RMA, you need to request it .

The thing with the controller is I was holding it by the molded rubber plug. I didn't think in my wildest dreams any of this would happen.

lol i grounded myself before typing this. Apparently anything is possible to transfer ESD. Ima have to fps with my ESD bracelet o.o Ima go google GRID and see what thats about. Sorry to hear about that though! I lost my front USB ports to constant wear and tear from my guitar hero controllers. Hence y i switched to wireless guitars. Still havnt fixed the front panel tho =/

GRID is pretty good. Not Gran Turismo/Forza real but really addicting and fun.

I heard Asus are really good with RMA. It will probably take a week or two before you get your board back.

One more question:

I dug out my backup board and forgot that I have a backplate perma-mounted to it. The problem is I have only pushpin HSFs on hand and I really don't want to run out and buy a new cooler when I don't plan on using it long term.

Aside from USB, all systems seem to be operating normally so how dangerous is it to continue to use this board while I wait on a replacement? I don't want to be rolling the dice with the rest of my hardware.

Thanks for all the help so far guys! It's much appreciated I assure you.

wow... i did worse. i was messing around with a live fan connector and allowed the header to touch the case... it burnt the tip of the connector off, and made a pen-tip sized hole in the case... it turned off the computer and it didnt start for a week. after a week it magically started working again.

Did everything work fine after that?

I have an unopened game sitting here and boy do I have the itch to play. After this all transpired I played a few hours of GRID last night without trouble. It wasn't until today I tried to transfer some files to a flash drive when I realized something went wrong. I don't want to power the system back up and burn out a $500 GPU or something.
