1.51v on an AMD 9850

Thread Starter
Is this voltage too high? My temps are fine, 58 load, 43 idle, but I had to set my vcore and the other NB processor thing in my bios to 1.51v to get it stable. CPU ID shows it at 1.536v, though.

Am I safe?

ON 65nm AMD tech I'd say yes, but it's probably getting close to the Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins.

You're fine, AMD's CPU's handle overvoltage better then intel chips, and intel's safe spec for overvolt on a 65 is 1.55vcore, so you still have room

EDIT: just keep it under 1.6, and you should be good

Ok, thanks guys :-p.

I think its a bit on the high side... 125W 9850's have Tmax ~61oC... which could easy happen if your PC is under load for 4-5 hours constantly...

Lower it more, and if u cant go stable better reduce it to 3.0Ghz @ 1.45V...

And to answer your question.. voltage is not high (for a WC setup) but temps ARE high

I think your alright, my 5200+ (90nm) has seen 1.56v and had no problems. From what I've seen, amd chips seem to take a lot more voltage to OC.

On a good WC setup, they can endure 1.6V+

You should be fine. I ran a 4000+ at 1.56v for 6months with no degrade whatsoever.
