Configuration 1: 1.251.16€
Intel i7 940 408.54
Asus Rampage II Extreme 302.7 =========> Consider X58
XFX Geforce GTX 260 BE 216.21 |
XFX Geforce GTX 260 BE 216.21 |=========> Consider 4870 in CF / 4870X2
PATRIOT PVT33G1600ELK 3gb kit 107.5 =========> Consider having 4GB kit which would really add up to ur processings needed in ur Photoshop / Premiere combined that with 64bits OS.

I'd suggest a single GTX280 since you are only using 1680x1050

Intel i7 940 408.54 <---Are you extreme overclocking? Maybe go for a 920?
Asus Rampage II Extreme 302.7 =========> Get a Gigabyte x58.
XFX Geforce GTX 260 BE 216.21 |
XFX Geforce GTX 260 BE 216.21 |=========> Consider single 280
PATRIOT PVT33G1600ELK 3gb kit 107.5 =========> Get 6gb in tripple channel.

Then a pair of HDD for raid and a nice case and your sorted... Maybe have enough left over for watercooling

i7 & 2x GTX260 [or 2-280s] would more than suffice. A 920 OC'd instead of a 940 and 2-280s would likely be the best cost : performance IMO. That would get you everything you need.

What is it with people recommending the GTX280? The GTX260 216 is almost as fast and is much cheaper!

Configuration 1. There is a world of difference between AMD Phenom 9950 BE and the i7 940.
