So 4.5ghz on E8600, 10 by 450 or 9 by 500 - Page 2

You should just stick with lower voltages. After all, lower voltages equals less heat which equals less stress. Why go with a higher FSB with higher voltages if you can achieve the same GHZ with less voltages?

Yeah I was looking for the most speed, but if there is no real difference I will shut it back down to 450fsb and less NB and FSB term volts, different advice from each person lol

because i can't go higher than 438 fsb or so with my setup, it boots with 450 but crashes while loading session no matter the vcore (stopped at 1.40)

for some reason it dosn't post at any bus between 439 to 449.

I strongly beleive i'd get a better overclock if i could use the 10x multi

There's something you are doing wrong then..your setup should easily go past 500fsb

ok, maybe not easily...but 480+ for sure. I'm willing to bet you've got some funky memory settings on that are limiting your OC.

That's possible, always had troubles with my memory even tho it's supposed to be decent quality.

I dont know how people think they are going to get 500 +fsb on the 10x multi
I have never seen or accomplised this on 45nm, typically it has a wall I love the c2d 8x multi
and have taken it upto 660 , the world record is on 7x

Nahh, the 10 multi runs at 450fsb, the 9 multi runs at 500fsb, but same 4.5ghz, I can get the FSB up to 550 or higher booting but not stable, so 500fsb is my max on this board and chip, the thing is to run 500fsb My NB and FSB term is at 1.4 which is high, if I drop to 450fsb I can drop both to 1.28. SO less volts lower FSB or Higher VOlts higher FSB
