gut an old emachines

Thread Starter
ok, my friend has an old emachines, idk the model number, but it has a Sempron 3100 (754) and 1gb of ddr400. would i be able to gut it, and fit an atx motherboard (it fits in a similar size case i use to use)? would we be able to still use the emachines drives? i know that dell has proprietary hard and optical drives.....

oh yea, and i was going to put a 939 gigabyte sli board with an athlon 3200 and 2gb of ddr400 dual channel

You would have to check if there's holes in the case for that motherboard. I know that most company's drill the holes in the case specific to the motherboard that comes with it.

I think all Emachine cases are microatx or smaller. It will not fit an full size ATX board, you will need a microATX board. Just be careful, they also do not use screw in brass standoffs but the case is cut and bent to make stand offs, so the case can short out some boards.
