Help me decide on WHICH case to buy!

Thread Starter
Hello, I'd like to ask your opinion of which you think will be a better case for me:
I currently have the NZXT Rogue, great case, however i have an Evga 8800Gt that crams my soundcard and wireless card between it in a micro atx mobo.
I am trying to decide on the NZXT Lexa Blackline (Red), The antec 900, and the NZXT Tempest.
I prefer things with a pretty door on them for whatever reason. The antec 900 seems to be a good choice over all in style i guess, however i hear you have to clean it out often because of the large 200mm fan that dust may easily fall into. Also there are no fan filters included even though i have some (makes it ugly)
The Antec also does not have "Cards" for the expansion slot and no tool less installation. The only con apparently with the Tempest is it's a ripoff of the antec900 and it has cheap build quality and overall less cooling compared to the antec 900. The tooless installation fails as well.
So please help me choose unless you can suggest another nice mid-tower case with style under $150

Thanks..

Check out the Antec 1200 which is now on sale... if you can squeeze out another $10 it would probably be worth it...

Any reason you haven't looked at a Cooler Master 690? Amazing airflow, great cable management, and easily modded.

Style is subjective. Personally, I'm not crazy about the "style" of any of the cases you have chosen. But don't let that dictate what you like in a case. Ultimately, you are the one who has to live with your decision.

When asking about mid tower cases here at OCN you will typically get the following recommendations:

Antec 300
Antec 900
Coolermaster 690

I have experience with the 900. It is a dust magnet. Not that the dust falls into the case as you may have been led to believe, but more that it is just sucked in by the two 120mm fans in the front of the case. This is typical in any case without some kind of filter before the fans.

That is the trade-off with increased air flow in a case. The more air that flows through a case, the more dust will flow along with it. If your case has filters it will not flow as much air over your components. If you want/need increased air flow, dealing with dust is the price you have to pay.

Since I own an antec 300, naturally I'd recommend it. It's a solid case with great airflow.

No real style to it naturally but it gets the job done. Also it has a nice dust filter up in front which is removable and washable.

I second the CM690 but I also put forth an Antec P182 its just neat imo, I do love my 690 though, plus its tooless well the fans arent and mobo isnt but thats only logical
post #9 of 15
coolermaster 690 > antec 900 - because of cable management holes and similar air flow.

antec p182 if you want to stay on the quiet side and less noise making.

Coolermaster 590 if your on a budget, as its a bit better than an antec300 because of the cable management holes
