if anyone has any tips for setting up this power supply they would be greatly appreciated. matter of fact I should probably set up a new thread about how to run this for best performance on a 437w tec and how to hook it up properly
You'll need a good heavy 3-prong power cord, I cut mine off a old bench grinder.
I like to use a relay on mine from the comp PSU to power on the TEC PSU. Look in my sig for the relay parts #'s and a step by step. You can get those nice Crydom on eBay for $10 or so, I wouldn't use the DD/Swifty one for the Meanwell.
I use 12 guage stranded copper wire for my TEC leads. I cut my TEC tails off to a inch or two long and solder on short lengths of the 12 guage and ring terminals on the end of that, then ring terminals on the PSU leads, that gives me a little adjustability. Then tape or heat shrink them up when you get them positioned like you want. Then I use good heavy duty lugs on the lead ends that attach to the Meanwell.
There is a trim pot in the front of the Meanwell, I turn it down as far as it will go with the 24vdc 600. On mine that gets me around a 21vdc actual, you can check it with a multi-meter to see what yours is.
I have pic's from about 3 or 4 builds going on in this link so don't let it confuse you, I don't do build logs real well..
..MOAB Build Log
...Be sure to read Omars insulation guide in the stickies here, its a good one.
EDIT: Hey heres the insides of a 24vdc-600W MeanWell in case your curious, I was..Edited by ira-k - 1/22/09 at 12:45pm
