So I came by a 30" HP 3065 monitor via a refurb from HP ($799), gorgeous display all is well and good until I reboot. I see the BIOS screens, the windows XP PRO load screen then when it loads drivers and apps the monitor goes to standby mode, I can hear the fan speed of the GPU ramp up to where it is set with EVGA Precision and I can hear the HD as it continues to load XP but no display. SO I turn the monitor off and back on via the front panel power swith, still in stand by with an amber LED, turn the monitor off via the rear power switch, still in standby, unplug the monitor from the power mains, wait a few seconds, plug back in, still in standby. Unplug and replug in the dual-link DVI from the monitor, still in standby. Move the DVI to the other GPU output and there it is. reboot again and same thing all over again.

Samsung 215T works fine through the boot and works like it should.

The HP does this with two different sets of drivers and so I swap the 9800GT with a 9600GSO and same issue.

So I guess I will call HP and see what we can work out, unless anyone here can supply an ah-ha fix, but I would like to understand how the monitor communicates to let the PC know it is there as that seems to be the issue I guess. Once the XP load screen, the low res image with the progress bar goes away and the hi res decktop should load the monitor goes to amber, standby mode.

Any ideas.

Thanks.
