how to get real temps?

i have a scythe mugen heatsink and fan installed in my case.

not sure which way the fan is suppose to be installed and i also wanted to know how can i get the real temps of my system in windows?

i tried installing hardware sensors and it does not detect anything??

coretemp or everest are great programs.

everest will tell you the temps of basically everything in your system, while coretemp is probably the best CPU temp monitor out there.

just download, unzip (if necessary), and run!

Generally, you want the fan to move the air from the HS to the top or the back of the case so it can be exhausted. I'm not as familiar with AMD boards, but they may have software utilities that monitor the board reported temps. Also utilities like Core Temp and Real Temp are pretty popular. If you are having trouble with a particular utility, perhaps a mobo driver needs to be installed/updated.

If you are referring to an actual hardware temp sensor, I'd check the placement of the sensor and the setting of the device.

Use CoreTemp and Everest and a third software like HWMonitor (my fave) for a third opinion.
