New build not working??

Hi, i ordered my new computer yesterday, specs are

GTX260+ 216 core edition.
4GB Gskill 800mhz ram
Asrock Penryn 1600SLI-110db
640GB WD hdd
650w antec earthwatts
C2D E8500 3.16ghz
and some awesome looking case.

I put it all together perfectly fine, no beeping or anything. Except on the BIOS splash screen where it says (Asrock) it basicly freezes right there, if i spam my tab button when it starts up, it will show whats going on instead of the splash screen. and it recognizes the CPU, then the Memory, then freezes there and doesnt move. No lights or anything.

Ive built a few computers before, and i've never had a part DOA, could this be my CPU is dead on arrival? i mixed parts into my other computer and debugged it all, seems to be all pointing to the CPU.

If i put this CPU im using now (E6850) into it, it works fine, then i try and use the E8500 in my computer my old computer (the one in my sig) and it won't work. (or though it gets past the boot screen, feels very unstable all around)

Any thoughts? i cleared the cmos and thats about it. Really need help thanks.

(and IF the CPU is dead, do i send it back to an intel factory? or to the place i ordered it from)

DO you get a similar response when you plug the new CPU into your Abit mobo? If so, I'd say that would firm it up for me.

As for a return, you'll need to check the return/replace policy of the specific vendor. Good luck!
