NEW to building-gaming PC build - Page 9

Definite no-no on the power supply . At the very least get the Antec Basiq

Downgrade to Vista Home Premium (Ultimate 99% of the time isn't worth it unless you see a feature you need) and get a nicer psu.

Who? The reviewers on Newegg? Don't trust them

Look for professional reviews, most notably jonnyguru, for psus. I can't find anything on the one you chose and considering the generic brand and way too cheap price, there's no way you should trust it.

oh gawd the PSU is gonna kill ur whole rig...

cancel it and order the corsair 550VX or the BFG 550w now. Change the HD4830 to a HD4870.
I'm not sure, it'd probably be easier to just cancel and reorder.

As for other psus:
-BFG Tech LS SERIES LS-550
-OCZ GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI
-PC Power & Cooling Silencer PPCS500

Good choice on the psu. Keep it future proof and invest a few extra dollars on a more expansive mobo with plenty of room for upgrades. That way when you have the money, you will have everything ready!

No all the wires should be there except for maybe some sata cables since the open box ones might now have all the accessories.

1. Why did you go with HD4830. You should have got the HD4870 or HD4830
2. Open box mobos are risky
3. whats with teh crap PSU... it has 24amps on the 12v rail. My 485w has 32A on the 12v rail. A quality 550w PSu (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139004) has 41amps. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005 52 amps
