It is pretty difficult to get to the end of Overlord and to play just a few hours of the Raising Hell expansion. The reason is that, while the game is solid and engaging, it is not quite “evil†enough. The developers, Triumph Studios, say that Overlord II will solve this problem and that makes a lot of people look forward to playing the title.

While the first game talks about being evil only offering a bit of destruction to justify that moniker, the second game will deliver various ways to demonstrate your level of corruption, also creating different evil paths, some focused on domination, others only on destruction.

Lennart Sas, a creative director working on the game, says that “If you become a dominating tyrant, your spells will become better at subjecting the populations to your evil will. Controlling a town of brainwashed slaves gives more benefits spread out over time, while destroying a town gives instant evil gratification: the souls of the slain population and looted treasure from their destroyed houses are for the taking.â€
