[fud]40 days and still no pay - Page 2

They should release what they have, sell it to people who are willing to pay now, and promise to release patches, etc as quickly as possible. That way they could get SOME positive cashflow, enough to pay their programmers and whatnot. That would buy them some time, so they could polish the game after release. From what Nitro1250 said, it wasnt that far away anyways. Release the game to people who want to pay, listen to their suggestions, and it'll work out fine. You'd have complaints in the beginning, but thats better than the company falling apart IMO.

Absurd. Stargate is an extremely popular franchise worldwide and game sales would have been astronomical, especially considering it is an MMO game and not FPS as was originally planned.

Clearly you are a master at debating! Not only do you employ comparisons that involve the opposite direction of logic and therefore do not apply, but you take that same inapplicable example and use it to generalize for the entirely different subject. If that is what you intend to continue to do, then yes, you've said enough.

Hmm... Sucks to see another company going under. I really hope they get this out and that it sells well.

As a FPS I couldn't see this being a good game. But as a MMO it could have some serious potential. The biggest problem would be beating back WoW. WoW currently has a hold of the majority of MMO players to the point of almost being a monopoly. A few other MMO's managed to hold on to a few die hard fans but nothing to the scale of WoW. What usually happens when a new game is created people stop playing WoW for a bit and give the new game a try and then when they see it's not like WoW they go right back to WoW...

I'm not saying WoW is a bad game. I would just love to see another MMO get a bit of love as well. The only way to make it into the MMO department is by giving WoW some competition. It's going to be hard to find enough players who don't play WoW and are willing to pay a monthly fee for a game they already brought. The second someone does managed to beat out WoW they'll just release Diablo and that will be the end of that.

After 3 long years I would still love a chance to give this game a try. I wish so many developers would not focus so much on creating MMO's. Would have been nice if the creators of AoC had brought out another Dreamfall instead. After AoC failed they are attempting to bring out yet another MMO.

Whatever happened to the 4 player games like Phantasy Star Online?

The fact that they are going 40 days without pay means they want to get this game out there. If they released a beta now and did small patchs frequently they could have something going.

adaptations of 1 media to another never work.
book to movie? no thanks, i'll just stick with the book
movie to game? i'll stick with the movie
game to movie? ... guess what?

only game to book has ever been done right...
but i guess i overestimated your ability to derive my point from what i said.
