X2 7750BE 2.7GHz Vs. X2 6000+ 3.1GHz - Page 3

Who are these people saying the 6000+ is faster clock for clock?

The 7750BE is the no-brainer choice here. Even at stock speeds, it'd probably perform a bit better than the 6400+, let alone the 6000+. Once you throw in overclocking, this thing will fly compared to the old Windsors or Brisbanes.

This thread was about the 7750 vs the 6000+, not the 6400+. The only reason I mentioned that 6400+ part was because based on the numbers (where the 7750 is consistently better than the 6000+), it seems the 7750 would be on par with the 6400+. I might've seen some benchmarks comparing the two, but I didn't have the time to look for them--which I'm sure you can do yourself.

What the hell? A k10 is 10% to 20% faster than a K8, which is what the 6400+ is based off.

Why would you spend 20 dollars more on older tech when the Phenom can be taken farther with ACC!? At their max, the Phenom would out right win and wont be bottle necking a 9800GT either.

That is not the point.. It is like a 1967 "351 Clevland" Block, witch is nothing but raw Hourse Power. You put that up to a "Standard V8 Block" used in todays cars.. Yes todays cars has better tech... but the 351 Block will eat it twice and spit it into the trash, then go looking for more... If this makes my point... I just want to see them side by side and see how it pans out...

I'm glad I found this thread. I was trying to come to a decision about these two as well. I'm on a tight budget so for me it was mostly about price. I was pretty sure I was going to go with the 6000+ over the 7750 because the 6000+ came with a heatsink and Black Editions generally do not. After reading this thread I decided to take another look at the 7750. Turns out it comes with its own heatsink after all. 7750 BE for me!
