Spyware Guard 2008

Thread Starter
Hi, the other day a program (malware) called Spyware Guard 2008 got onto my computer. I immediately tried to remove it, but the problem just got worse and worse.

What It Has Done To My Computer
-Won't let me open some programs to run such as spybot search and destroy
-Won't even let me install some programs to try to remove it
-Popups for it everywhere
-No Programs now appear on my add/remove programs
-My wireless card stopped working (Signal Strength: Very Good, Status: Limited or No Connectivity, didn't do this until the malware got on my computer)

What I've Done To Try to Fix it
-Tried to delete the files manually, but afterwords they just reinstall
-Tried AVG, Ad-Aware, Spyware Doctor, True Sword
-Other programs like Super Anti Spyware Free Edition (gets an error when I try to open it), Malwarebytes(just won't open)

I've tried all that I can think of, and I don't want to have to reformat my computer. True Sword and Spyware Doctor find the malware and say that they fixed it, but it just reinstalls and the pop ups keep on coming. When my internet did work before the malware destroyed it, it worked for about 10 minutes while i had the malware, but whenever i would go to a site, it would redirect me to some advertisement site for any link that i would click on or enter. Does anyone know how to solve this, I've spent days on this and have had no success. Any Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you in Safe Mode when you attempt to delete the files manually? There is also probably a reinstaller under a different name.
Once again...

I've tried some of the stuff in safemode, like super anti spyware and malware bytes has the same problem. I haven't tried spyware doctor in safe mode yet though.

Have you tried running Clamwin in safe mode?

Maybe that might help you?

Also, backup your data, just in case. You don't want to have to reformat and lose it all, or have it get infected.

Also, if possible... Could you take the hard drive out of that computer, put it into a "Test" computer were you can run a AV Scan in linux or running Windows?

What exact problems are you having with runing Malwareantibyte's in safe mode?

Too bad, unfortunately this would be the best way.

Making a bootable Linux disc then scanning with Clamwin would probably work.

It will do that in Safe Mode or running in a Normal Boot Mode?

How did you install it?

You may have to take the HDD out and put it in a different computer, or use a Linux LIve CD and clean the Malware.
