Welcome to the forums. Looking pretty good so far. I personally would get a different cpu cooler. I love my xigmatek, and they come pretty cheap.

I got the WD6401AALS instead of the AAKS. Double the cache for just a tad more.

I'm not sure of the differences, but the GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P is a fantastic board for the same price after rebate. Many people here have it, and I have heard nothing but great things. (Excellent overclocker)

One more thing. If this is primarily a gaming build you might consider spending less on the cpu and more on the gpu. Just a thought.

Also, tomshardware did a gaming build for 625. You might get some ideas from it.

i know, im going to go under fire for this
but consider an e8400 instead of the Q6600.
in GAMES, yes GAMES people, not video encoding, not "multitasking" even though i multitask better on my system > my friends (Q6600, gtx280, 780i, 4gigsram)
the e8400 will do better because of its higher cache etc, look up the benchmarks
even in games like crysis that are supposedly "multithreaded" which is a lie
so, i'd say go e8400...
another example is the guy who did tests on his i7 with one, two, three, and four cores enabled in games
and thats all with the same clock
having the 2 cores with higher clock will work better
anywho, thats my 2cents

Well, I believe video editing is one place that quad core will certainly shine. Games are suited for dual core for now, so some older dual cores beat my quad right now. This will change in some time, but something to consider.

Quick search on newegg and I found a 4850 for $120 after rebate. Link

Not sure you can go wrong there. Especially if you don't intend to go to high on your monitor's resolution. This card will hold it's own.

The i7s are killing in just about everything I thought? Top of the charts in gaming from what I have seen.

i'm just saying, penryn dual core > conroe quad core
tis true, for gaming that is
but he said he does video editing
so go q6600 in that case

Oh, nice man. That's what I did, just wait for more opinions, read reviews of the hardware, and find people with the same setup and make sure it will all fit and work nicely together. Research and more research, and you will be fine.

Goodluck
