You could extend within your home, but not over the wireless, and not to a laptop. There are other extension technologies as well that we and others do that are not invasive in the PC, and extend to a small receiver over CAT 5e/6/7 cable to give you video and control at the other end. They aren't really for gaming, but they may work... generally these are VGA/DVI-A only.

This is not PC over IP though... standard extension like above is a couple of hundred metres max, one screen per cable normally. PC over IP lets you extend dual to quad screen PC's hundreds of miles, with desktop performance for the user.
