the only bad thing i can think about this situation is if someone sent in a 8800gts/gtx then BFG/Another company sent back a 280, and the original user had a psu that could barely handle the 8800.

But still lucky you! maybe i should find a defect on my BFG 8800gts .....hmmm naw cant do that, that is dishonest

I RMA'd my sig card a few days ago, hope I get an upgrade (they don't sell them anymore)
I'm on a 8400GS atm to hold me over.

my sig card is a G80 core, so i doubt they'd have any of those left. and besides, it has been giving me crashing errors at ok temps. but, since i bought an aftermarket cooler, is my warranty void? (still have the stock cooler)

I think that if you install the original cooler your warranty will be valid.

Technically, the warranty is void, but if you reinstall the stock cooler so that they can't tell it was ever off you should be golden.
