Well, upping Vcore bit by bit, doing Vantage runs, I could get further into Vantage each time till the 'optimal' point of reaching the end of 2nd game demo. From that point on, upping Vcore (had it at 1.67) caused degradation and made Vantage lock up sooner again.
This probably means I can't get it past Vantage at all unless I'd have more a extreme form of cooling.
@papa.smurf There isn't much more to tweak besides Vcore. The FSB doesn't change, the NB doesn't. Only the core itself was clocked stepping up from my 24/7 of 3.4GHz. The only overclocking change I made for this run was changing the multi from 8 to 9.
The GTLREF lines are modified by my board/bios automatically, nothing much there I could do better than the board does. Upping FSB volts (which is at 1.4) would have no use, nor would upping NB have any use.
It's possible I could get past Vantage @ 3.8GHz, but I sure as hell ain't gonna change my FSB at this time, as I got that all tweaked out to run perfectly stable at 3.466.
Was a nice adventure this overclock though
Edit: I'm quite bummed I couldn't get Vantage to complete, I bet it would get my system into the OCN top 30 vantage score list Edited by MagicBox - 12/24/08 at 1:18pm
