Untangle Club - Page 21

OK, I have a question. I have a network that's got a 50 Mb cable connection, and when I connect a computer directly to the modem speedtests show 50 Mb, but when I hook up the untangle server it only gets 20 Mb down. I turned off QOS as suggested in other places I have read about this. It really wouldn't be a big deal if multiple people could download at 20 Mb, but if more than one thing is being downloaded they seem to share the 20 Mb... anyone seen this?

3Ghz pentuim d, 4 GB DDR2 800, 160gb sata HDD, and two gigabit networking cards. The thing at the top says it's using 1.2GB of memory, and low CPU usage the whole time.

You know, this sounds like an MTU issue between the modem and the Untangle machine...can you check the MTU settings? It should be either 1500 or 1492 (something like that).

I left it at the default 1500

Edit: I just tried 1400, and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Can you try 1492?

EDIT:

If that makes no difference either, then it must be some kind of rate limiting effect on the Untangle box. Can you also switch off any filtering or AV services that might also be running?
