OCed Q6600 3.2ghz running extremley slow!! Please help me. - Page 2

So basically you can start a program ANY PROGRAM and wait a while but once it starts then everything else starts fast and normal? Is that right? Could be a memory issue and running Memtest would rule that out. Have you checked for stability? Could be you are not getting enough voltage. If an OC is not stable then sometimes it will run but really slowly. Try testing with prime95 and see how it runs.

Yes, I can run any program without a problem, it just takes a really really long time for it to load. I ran Prime 95 for over 24 hours when I first built and OCed the computer. I think 550W is enough for what I am running. I will run test Memory and the Hard Drive when I get home. Hopefully I can get this thing running right. Thank you for all the help so far!

I can think of two things. First would be the memory, but you would usually get a BSOD if it isn't stable.
The second is corrupt windows. You may have created errors in it when OCing, if you were pushing it too far and having crashes. I would try running a registry cleaner first. RegscrubXP works great. If that doesn't fix it, try repairing windows with the XP disk.

XP never crashes or dose anything out of the ordinary. I use registry mechanic every time the system boots.
