ATI driver fail

This is the last time i try and upgrade my graphics card drivers from the original ones from the install CD. I have tried to upgrade to previous versions countless times, with no luck at all. No ATI drivers will work other than the original ones from the install CD. Now 8.12 gives me a blue screen upon reboot, how wonderful. Have never had this much problems with drivers with Nvidia, in fact, i cant think of a single driver issue that i ever had with Nvidia. Im done with ATI for sure after this. Drivers should work when you install them, ATI needs to get with it on their driver issues.

It's always a hassle when installing drivers for a crossfire/SLI system. It's just the way it is.
I actually had to install the 8.12's with a command prompt for my single 4850. Somewhat annoying, everything works nice though.

I was running SLI on my last nvidia system, every driver install worked flawlessly. All i had to do was DL/install the drivers then restart and bam it was ready to go. This has never worked with these ATI cards and even when i only had 1 card i could never get the updated drivers to work either.

this might help. http://support.ati.com/ics/support/d...estionID=40671

some people that do this normally have blue screens too. Also check my sig for some help, try doing what it says except you install your initial cd first. instead of the 8.7's and for step eleven use the hotfix.

Ok ill try that hot fix, i still dont understand why they cant create drivers that work for their products. They know people are going to be running crossfire, i dont understand why they constantly release drivers that wont work with a crossfire set-up.
