lcd screen help!

Thread Starter
I am looking for a fairly cheap lcd screen... not like a monitor (unless it's fairly thin) but ive seen some ppl mod screens to display through composite and vga. That's what i need to do, but i have no clue how. Something like a laptop screen i think would work but they're pretty pricey... so if anyone has any idea what i'm talking about or a fairly thin (around 100) thin (around 1 inch without stand) monitor or one of those oem lcd screens please inform me
Thanks (looking for anything really from 15-20"?)

I think the only thing that you are going to find that is less than 1" thick is going to either be a laptop screen or a tore down Monitor. With the laptop screen you will have to find a way to get it to display video. If you are good with electronics then it shouldn't be a problem. and with the LCD monitor, just take it apart and do what you need to do with it. But I'm wondering, what are your plans? I would like to see a drawing or something. I'm always looking for new projects to play with just to piss off the wife

sasve yourself alot of trouble and forget trying to use a laptop screen. they work completely different than a normal monitor.

there is a signal conversion that takes place in a desktop that never happens in a laptop. because of this, you need to convert the output of the video card to a format usable by the laptop screen. you also have to invert the power iirc.

the parts are available, but you will spend alot more than if you just bought a monitor
