Buget PSU power HD 4870?? - Page 3

Yes, it's gonna be just the one card, a 780g MB, X2 7750BE, one 250gb Seagate, 4gb OCZ Platinum PC2 8500, and hopefully a 4870 I guess depending on the PSU I get. I don't wanna cheap out on the PSU, but the budget is pretty tight to build this system. I'm building this at the beginning of January minus the 4870 which will come in Feb. I just want the best PSU in my price range the will get the job done. MIR would be more than welcome, I would certainly go over a bit to accommodate a MIR. Thanks.

A 550W would more than suit your needs. The 750W Silencer mentioned earlier is a good PSU for $70AR but since you aren't buying right now there's a good chance that deal will be over, and the MIR is pretty big at $40. I would say look for a Corsair vx550. Provantage and buy.com usually have the best prices but it still comes to ~$70 shipped AR. Since that is still over budget, the LS-550 I mentioned earlier is a good choice and is a quality PSU. Another PSU to look out for when on sale is the Antec EA650. But it's hard to tell what prices will be when you go to purchase your system in January so it may be best just to bump this thread then and see what deals are currently available.
