Coolio. I really don't want to invest much money in a dual core, since all I need it for is some hardcore gaming till the QXXXX's drop in price. I can sell my e6400 for ~40 and pick up an e5200 for $64.
From what i've heard, it's a 5-10% difference in performance, for roughly twice the price. I'd rather, and already did, spend money on the GPU.

Why the 7300? Yes it has 1mb more of cache, but is the overclocking headroom all that much higher? And the 12.5 multiplier on the e5200 is balls crazy.

Edit:
According to these guys, the overclocking potential is much less. I don't really care about anything past 4.0 ghz though.

I don't think the E7300 is worth the extra money. It's $40-50 more IIRC.

my e5200@ 3.53ghz and gtx260 gets 51.17 frames average on enthusiast settings 1440x900

and this is with only 2gb of ram as well.

couldnt be any happier with a processor that costed me 75$

if i dropped in another 2gb of ram, id get about 54 frames average heh.
