Can OC kill a mobo ? - Page 2

hmm, test the psu, but i dont remember what pins to short, so either wait for someone else to come along, or befriend google.

http://aphnetworks.com/tutorials/psu_paperclip_trick

green and black, but read that so you dont kill yourself......

also if you have another lga775 cpu to try out in it, give that a shot

and it is highly reccomended to not use auto settings,

Last time my PSU died, the same exact thing happened, everything
So it might be that the PSU I just got from BB is DOA
I will buy another one and try, if not then I will send my mobo to Gigabyte then

Well, it's a generic PSU from Best Buy, what do you expect?
If your components aren't screwed up and it's due to something else, try testing everything in another rig.

That was a serious OC you are doing. And super high vdrop / vdroop. No wonder something went wrong, you took the voltages way too high. > 1.5 vcore = trouble now or in the future.

I doubt you got a faulty PSU. Send the board in for diagnostics or RMA.

Yesterday my 12 inch UV light arrived ( so I can lid up my WCS ), I plugged it in, got into windows, running prime 95, the computer turned off after 5 mins, and then the whole nightmare began.

I will try the ram thing now.
Woah, woah, wait. 1.525 Vcore? That's excessive man. New quads can barely reach 3.6GHz without being stable, so I don't know how you did it.
