OCZ V2 30GB Benchmarks

Thread Starter
Here they are (for one drive). Raid 0 (onboard and with perc5i for 1-8 drives) coming as soon as I can get it up.
Vista 64-bit boots in 19 seconds, not including bios and all that.

Added benchmarks for 8x in raid 0 using the perc 5i. Seek times appear to have doubled. Not sure if this is due to cable length (mine are a meter long) or the card itself. Vista 64-bit ultimate now boots in under 10, not including bios checks, but I haven't timed it yet.

This is with one drive. I need to get vista (or a floppy) in there before I do the raid controllers. I'll do them with the onboard and with a perc5i when I get the time.

i was curious if a raid controller would speed up a single ssd, but oh well. Have you experienced any stuttering?

very good, do you know if there's much difference between V1 and V2? i can't find anything on the net comparing them or OCZ telling what advances they have made....only 15mbps read faster and about 6mbps write quicker. surely there must be some differences.

just figured out that "V1" is the value series of OCZ.

No idea. My benchmarks are actually the first ones I've seen (that I trust) on the internet for any kind of ssd.

how would the Value 30gb compare to these? on the OCZ site it's only fractionally slower.

I should have my two 30GB SSD'd on a PERC drive sometime next week if all goes well. I am ordering the PERC 5/i card Friday as long as this guy buys my parts like he said he would. These drives are fast as hell once you do the OS tweaks.
