Tv connection to computer issue

Thread Starter
So I recently bought a 40 inch Samsung LN40A500 model. I am happy with it. I have mainly used it for blue rays so far but I tried to connect it to my computer and I just cant find a signal.

I have a HDMI cord running to the back of the tv to a HDMI to DVI adapter in the back of my computer. I have the newest drivers for my card and I just don't know where to go from here.

Nvidia's control panel will not recognize the television and when i try their "rigorous display detection" nothing happens. Windows is useless for this it seems. So I come to you to help me solve my dilemma. I want to play a video game on a 40 inch screen. Thank you very much.
