Q6600 or Q9400?

Thread Starter
im going to get a quad core cpu and i was wandering which is better out of the Q6600 or the Q9400. obviously the 9400 is better but considering the large price difference, which would be a better option?
I'm totally happy with my Q6600, I have it @ 3.0 on the stock heatsink, and its really cool and stable. Performs great, and when my TRUE arives I will be OC'ing it to 3.6.
And bdw Q6600 has a larger L2 cache 8MB versus Q9400's 6MB.

I don't think it's worth the money- with that money there are better options, but the 9400 is 45nm I think so it will run cooler.

Like, in your everyday computing you won't notice much of a difference between the 2.

Q6600 - $180
Q9550 - $310

Yeah, not a huge price difference, only close to 2x the amount.

Get the Q6600.

If they were same price the Q9400 would be a better buy.

no way...
He would not have even had made this thread if they were the same price, he was asking if the price increase justified the performance
