It really does depend on your future goals for your build.
Do you want Crossfire? Thats a biggie right there.
The 750 South Bridge is the newest from AMD/ATI, it adds a few extra Sata Ports and improves Phenom Overclocking quite a bit.
That being said, here's a primer on the North Bridge Chips
790 FX - The is the "performance" North Bridge, it features full 16x/16x Crossfire, and NO integrated graphics. There are 3 Motherboards out there based on this config, Asus M3A79-T Deluxe, a DFI and a Foxconn
790 GX - This features an integrated graphics controller but only 8x/8x Crossfire. In testing, this is only SLIGHTLY slower than the FX.
there are several other northbridges available, but none of them seem to be used much, 790X, 770X, 770.
Also, these boards are DDR2 atm, the early versions of Phenom II are the Socket AM2+ and use DDR2, the Socket AM3 versions will use DDR3 but they won't be available until April at the earliest and only show "ABOUT" a 5% increase in speed. For the Cost of DDR3, stick with DDR2 until much later in the year.
