Best Security Suite for Grandma

Thread Starter
So my grandma's friend is going to be buying her first laptop soon and i'll be doing all the installing and IT on that computer. I would like some security suites or combinations of software that bother the user as LITTLE as possible

Here are some of the things I was thinking

Norton 360 v2
Trend Micro "the newest security suite, PC Mag rated it Editors choice"

I don't think a router would help protect from viruses so there really is no point of doing that. There might be i don't know

So are there any other configs that are good.

I was thinking Comodo but that thing is so obtrusive it's not even funny

Ok let the suggestions FLYYY

Make sure to get SpywareBlaster. It doesn't have to run to work and will keep the spyware from getting on without any alerts. Avast is a good program, just disable the sounds and set the updates to automatic.

Norton Internet Security 2009. I use it. I cant sing its praises enough. Check the reviews on it and you'll see.

Avast! has a really simple interface that runs automatically. I think it'll be best for her.

I'd recommend Avast as well.

Also, ... if that ends up being ineffective.

She could always go with the Grandma's preferred automatic MP40 rifle!

i will second norton internet security 2009 since i have clients that use it. It is very light weight and you can schedule it for anything. It isn't the resource hog that the previous versions of norton were.
