Vista's defragger was slow, but it worked. I use Auslogic defragger.
CCleaner will help too.
I'm testing out defraggler now too

this is driving me nuts people, ive just removed practially everything i dont use on my hdd, freed up almost 100gb of files and still no change in the vista partition tool, ive tried to use the gparted but theres no fkin iso file :@!, what can i do???? 288gb of space and i can only partition 2gb of it !!!!???!!! WHY :@

defraging is a waste of time,ive never seen any improvement in speed.i think its a ploy to get people to waste their cash.on useless software.

After you run disk cleanup, choose the more options tab:
system restore/shadow copies
Vista does this:
Every time you install something or Windows does an update it creates a restore point. See how many you have and need.

just done the above aswell, STILL only 2gb worth of space to partition, ive done everything and nothing has worked, what else is there to do??

Go read up on what defragmenting is


it takes fragments and puts them together so they are not fragments.
