9800 GT making loud noise on first start up

I just finished building my first computer and right when I bootedup a loud noise like a fire alram went off and it happens to be my gpu. Does anyone what the problem is?

No problems. The fan spins @ 100% until The card is fully initiated.

If the PC isn't posting, it's because the power connector at the back isn't plugged in. There should be a 6-pin plug coming out of your PSU. If the PC is posting, then the fan always starts at 100%, and it's perfectly normal.

all the cards do that, until the driver's kick in and make the fan spin at a lower value .

did you plug in the 6pin pci-e power cable?? my 8800gt did the same thing when i forgot to plug in the cable

Hey, mine did that too when I SLIed them, some drivers and stuff later, its a still a little loud, but not as bad as it used to. Maybe just have to wait a bit?
