Not when switching to SLI. Underpowering usually occurs midgame or at the beginning of the game. They draw very little power when in 2d from what I understand.

I think its more of either a driver issue or a bad card. OP from the post that Blue quoted where you were talking about your power connectors.... can you try and clear that up a bit more? I'm kindof confused as to how you have this hooked up. If you can post some pics of your setup. That would help greatly.

I guess I was assuming he tried both cards separately. My bad.

Here is some updated stuff on PSU. It says on the side that it can pump out 30A and can draw 550Watts. I doubt that, but it is more likely putting out about 450ish. This is what I mean by the connectors. You know how each cable has a bunch of cords that you can connect after it eh? Like you can use 1 cord that has multiple connectors and connect that to 2 hard drives or 2 DVD Drives? Well, I got one heading towards the motherboard and the extra prong is heading to a splitter. A connect for a spare DVD Drive is also connector to the splitter. I only have 1 PCI-E connect so I had to use the splitter on the second card.

About the card, ever since I got it on Christmas it always makes a ringing sound. I thought it was just because of an overclock but even at stock clocks (from BFG) it makes the ringing sound. Seems to be less of a ringing sound when the fan speed is at 100 percent though, but still noticable.

Another thing, this evga board (by what I've been told) is one of the first mATX boards that has SLI. I don't know if that has to do with anything, but it also said that when SLI is enabled (or when the 2 cards are in), the top card doesn't work (as is you can't use it as a display port). The screen right now is connected into the newer card (with I guess is the master card in this case) and SLI is disabled. Hmmmmm, I'm not too sure. It seems like both cards work fine. Also, I've tried the old one in their by itself, and right now I'm running off of the new one without SLI enabled.....

?????

Thanks for the help so far guess!

Ok I have a couple more ideas.

1st. Test each card seperately. This will tell you if you have a bum or problematic card.

2nd. Make sure to look at if you are not putting both cards on the same 12v rail. If you do, this explains all the wierd things happing.

Please post up a link to your PSU, this will help greatly.

Alright, I'll give it a shot in a bit. Rigth now its running in SLI and I do get a performance jump. This time it let me through enabling SLI, but now I just gotta wait till a restart before it stops working. I'll try and post some pics and try the card solely by itself in a bit, thanks again !

Alright, well, it seems like it just has to be a driver problem or it has to do with this motherboard.

Both cards work fine when they are by them selves and they boot up and no problem exists. The problem only happens when SLI is enabled, or it works and then once there is a restart the PC, again, goes to a blue screen complainning about the nvd_disp driver. I reinstall the driver, boot up, works fine. Enable SLI, goes poop. Sometimes it lets me go through, sometimes it doesn't and blanks out and eventually blue screens.

Here are some things I'm thinking:
- It can't really be the power supply. It is not overheating or making any funny smells. There should be enough amps, etc to run it.
- The standard overclock works fine and has been plently of stress tests. The mixing of the ram is completely stable and worked fine with the single card (and still does).
- The sound card is removed along with its drivers. It was an old cheap dell mock of Sound Blaster and that is all cleaned up. However, my onboard soundcard doesn't work (I only use USB headsets now )
- All the jumpers to enable SLI, by my knowledge, have been switched to the proper place. The SLI light is on and it SLI has worked already, but after a restart it crashes.
- Could it be my outdated hardware? Even EVGA doesn't support this board or give any bios updates. Could I just need a new upgrade to get to a tech that recongize the parts properly? I'm thinking of just getting a new motherboard, CPU, and ram and link it up with SLI? I have a bunch of money left over from my overseas trips and hopefully that would cover for the upgrades.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

NOt only that, I'm running the 1 card right now and there isn't a single performance difference :|

I would contact EVGA I have heard that they have good tech support.

They do, but the last person I talked to said that they don't even support my mobo anymore and personally, the guy I talked to said he only had experience from the 680 chipset and higher :\\

No, its not that kind of problem. The new card sounds funny whenever its on and makes a high pitch noise (just the card, no locks up, nothing like that, even when the card is by itself). Hmmmm, but I'll try and remove the drivers for the USB headset and see if that makes a difference.

Also, my current benchmark of source is 155.5ish, while when in SLI I was only getting 143.5ish. Even though the card worked by itself (the new one), I'm sending it back and maybe it has something faulty with its SLI bridge. Maybe that high pitch noise does have something wrong with it (plus its hurting the ears ).
