[vr-zone]GeForce GTX295 Quad SLI vs HD 4870X2 Quad Crossfire - Page 6

I really want to see the proper reviews, with extensive testing. Preferably with the latest and greatest drivers for maximum effect. Even though I have always had NVidia cards, I just want to see what card turns out to be my next buy, based on 'teh powar'. I have been having such fun piecing together an i7 system in my mind, and really the only thing left to decide is which GPU.
GTX285 with a nice OC to perhaps SLI later on in the i7.
GTX295 for SLI on my current system (can only do crossfire) until I get the i7.
4870X2 because I can run two on my current board (again until my i7) if I felt like it.

Hmmmmmmm
They are flawed. I just ran a firefly only test at stock x2 clocks and 3.6ghz and scored 10fps more in that same test. 'Dese are bogus.

I'm not sure why everyone keeps screaming drivers. There's not much of any difference at all to current gtx drivers and sli that these cards would need, sense in essence they are sli gtx280's with lower ram capacity and core clocks.

Although, it does look like they are using handicapped drivers on the x2. Wonder if they even knew that drivers pre the 8.11 hotfix didn't have the i7 fix?

That's what I was thinking, I doubt they are using the x58 hotfix drivers.
They're definitely not using cat 8.12.

True, but look at the purpose of sideport, I can't imagine it contributing much to performance. It looks kind of like readyboost for windows to me.

I don't know, how can you do well if you have 7 (coming up on 8) straight quarterly losses as a company?

At least they have innovation, how many times were nvidia cards rebadged? The last time nvidia had innovation was G80.
Touche`. I don't know what they're trying to do rebadging like that, other than maybe fooling people who don't know anything about graphics cards. I am glad that ATI is doing as well in marketshare as they are because Nvidia got lazy when ATI couldn't compete for a while.

You probably seen it already though.

Just for comparisons though they got 32.5k at 4.05 right.

I get about 28.5k at 4.05 ghz

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=521007

So a good 4k gain over tri sli.
