That's what makes me think they might be on to something. If they're a whiz with CPU's, and they can get CPU's to do GPU work, it may just do some damage.

If nothing else, just the threat of Larrabee will have the NVIDIA/AMD boys (hopefully) working hard to bring us a new generation that will be sure to squash Larrabee before it's even born.

i think the i7 was to keep people busy until this processor. i was like *what? really intel, that's all you have to show for that huge wait?*
now i know why.
it looks like this is going to be a kick ass processor, lets just hope AMD can keep up or surpass it so we can have some healthy pricing competition. i sure miss the athlon 64 days where a 300 dollar processor beat the living daylight out of 1k processor.

So uh, are they just going to forever keep talking about making a GPU, or is this thing actually going to wind up on the shelf for purchase one day? Cause all i ever hear out of intel on the subject is a whole lot of talk, and not much action. Have they even said any kind of release date or anything?

So the red lines go from the yellow triangle to the 4 yellow boxes with smaller blue boxes in them. That is what gives larrabee the edge fr om what I see. I can't wait for it!

If performance is there, then they won't need their PR/hype machine at all. The product/GPU will push itself onto the market. Otherwise it doesn't matter if Intel has Satan himself chained and locked up in every one of their Larrabee GPU's if Larrabee is only capable of 3fps in Crysis.
Only difference here, this is Intel. It is certainly different from Nvidia and Ati, but its Intel, they're smart.
