Intel E7400 - Page 4

P45 is a smaller die than the P35... 1.7v is definitely not a good thing. IMO LLC is BAD for 45nm CPU's.

No, I have P5Q PRO now, which has a minimum vdrop. Now I'm just stuck at 4200MHz with 1.5v BIOS and can't pass. That's 420x10. Any ideas?

CL3P20: How did u push your e7400 to 4,5?

+100mv for GTLv lanes for core0 and core1...1.2v FSB.. and 1.57vcore after droop. I also, booted at 4.3ghz and used Clockgen to up FSB in Windows to 4.55ghz.

I don't really understand why you need it past 4 GHz. Or is that not the problem?

Yeah, I'm just an overclocker, stuck at 4410MHz And I'll try that, too, thanx for info.

1st time overclocker here...

I have the E7400 - Gig UD3r - 4 gig Corsair PC6400 xms2 - freezer7pro

I'm currently at 3.8 ghz (400 x 9.5) @ 1.36 volts peaking at 59 degrees (orthos stable)

for some reason I can't get the fsb anywhere over 400. Do I need to bump up the fsb voltage? Is it the ram?

what's the max core voltage you guys would recommend for the cooling that I have?

3.8 isn't bad. Is your NB at stock volts? if it is give it a bump. You might want to start your own thread.

4ghz is actually very excellent for that chip.. i often see them struggling past 3.6Ghz

but be careful with those volts, you're near the limit.

Maybe try playing with the multi? maybe your board has a fsb hole like mine? For example, my e8400+P5Q won't do 467x9 but will do 495x8.5 (which are both 4.2ghz).

iv been reading this post on my laptop while oc my desktop. i have the e7400 and a cheap gigabyte motherboard (GA-945GCM-S2L). spent all day playing round with it. i even installed a button to the reset pins to make it easier because i believe there is so many holes in this motherboard. anyway the highest i can get stable is 3740MHz with 1.35V (so far, i might try push it further tomorrow). my motherboard came with easytune5, gigabytes windows overclocking application. i have reached my current fsb of 374 by first putting in 333 in bios and then doing the rest of the overclock with easy tune. OC with easy tune alone was a waste of time and in bios anything above approx 333-340 gives me start up problems. so i set the bios to 333, because it gives me a tidy memory speed and ill be doing the rest of the oc in windows, hopefully get it past 4GHz on this cheap mobo.

has anyone had experience with bundled windows oc apps?
