PNY 9600GSO 96SP 768mb

Thread Starter

Would the 9600GSO 96SP 768mb (overclocked, but Amazon.com doesn't say the detailed specs) be a good buy for running at 1280x1024 or 1440x900? For $42 it doesn't seem that bad of a deal.

And how is PNY as a brand? Rebates, warranties, that sort of thing.

Edit: This is to replace a 3650 DDR2 512mb in another rig.

According to Tom's, 3650 = 6800GT or 8600GT lol.

My main concern is whether it will last long enough, or should I just buy a big upgrade for my sig rig and then move the 8800GT to the other rig.

That looks good. It's GDDR3 unlike the XFX one which is DDR2 lol

PNY was good to me when I used them

Good deal. It's usually about $70 CAD in my area.
According to Tom's Hardware 9600GSO = 3850, 4670

Can do pretty well at those resolutions but there are probably better options.
Maybe another 8800GT?
