Came across this post on ABT

Looks like Nvidia will also be using GDDR5 on upcoming chips.

9500GT was just the G96 chip project is what it looks like..Looks like it's going to end up on the next GTX2** chip by reading into the post a bit.

9500GT was just the test chip.

Quote:
We expect it to be a mainstream chip as Mr. Zhenggang Chang has worked on mainstream chips earlier and it makes sense to try out new technology on low-end mainstream cards before using the technology in High-end chips to counter any incompatibilities

Probably by the time they get it out I wouldn't be suprised if ATI was on GDDR6. Only Joking.

Looks like nvidia wants the Ol'Performance crown once again. ATI cut them and they are bleeding. I think that they will strike back strong but ATI has some killer tech on the horizon.
um, I mean this seems kind of cool.

But you guys also realize that Nvidia's current memory at ~2.3Ghz DDR4 @ 512-bit bus (on the GTX280) is FASTER than ATI's 3.60Ghz DDR5 @ 256-bit bus (on the 4870), right?

I mean, progress is always a good thing and DDR5 is the next new thing. But don't be confused into thinking that Nvidia's use of slower memory makes it de facto inferior - there are two parts to the memory equation -- bus size and memory speed.
