If you don't believe these numbers and what I've said, then don't, I'm not going to try to change your mind or force you to

I believe its a bit more than that. I will reserve my judgement until MANY ocn members post their results. I'm still buying one though, because at bare minimum it will give c2q performance which is good enough for me.

I hope it is fast at rendering multitrack audio and video. I find my Q9550 still not fast enough at 4Ghz. I need much more speed.
I will at least wait til the die shrink of core i7 before another upgrade though.

So you were poking us with the new "whoopass" nVidia product for like, 2 months? (XS News)

That alone takes away all the credibility you had/ever will.

You're obviously confused.
The whoopass thread was opened by Dinos22 if I recall correctly, and it was about the GTX 280.
If you go a bit in the past, in another thread you'd see my post with details for the forthcoming ( back then ) GTX 280 with architecture details, frequencies, amount of operational units, etc.
And as you can see ( just check a review ) they were correct.
Same applies to the early news on my site's front page.

By the way, I'm not poking on people and never will when it comes to hardware and news.
And if you're talking about the G200b ( the 55nm die shrink of the G200 ) I never said that the dates ( actually I never gave any exact dates, just a timeline that was on back then, until nVIDIA decided to go for two cards at once, and got stuck in the process ) were confirmed.

Anyways, if you don't trust me, then don't, do you really think I care ?
It's certainly not my "loss"

The Crysis Warhead results are very impressive. I expected it to get beaten like it did in other apps but its excellent gaming performance means it is the perfect chip for me.

Nice to see that the stories of Phenom II beating i7 in Crysis at high res were actually true.

Good job AMD

On the contrary, AN7 Overclocker used to be and still is ( at least in his heart ) a AMD fanboy ( notice the AN7 in his nickname ?... AN7 is one of the best boards from Abit back in the Socket472 era ( SocketA ) )...
And the point is?

If you were expecting Phenom II to beat Intel's Core i7 and Core 2 Quad Q9550, there are some bad news for you... it can't.
We already know that it won't beat Nehalem, but I'm confident it will beat Yorkfield.

Quote:
It barely surpasses the 2.4GHz Q6600 ( Kentsfield ) in average and that is with a 400MHz operating frequency advantage.
WHAT?????
If the review really came out with that, Ima have a swim in a pool of salt.

Quote:
Taking in mind that the average Phenom II 920/940 overclock on air will be around 3.6GHz and 3.8GHz... and considering that the average overclock on of a Core 2 Q6600 G0 on air is 3.6GHz to 3.7GHz... the Phenom II will be beaten if both processors are overclocked near or to their max.
Apparently didn't know that the recent Q6600s have been crappy OCers, maxing out around 3.3GHz...

I'm not a fanboy living in denial, but unless I see more trusted reviews (and with up-to-date hardware/software/firmware), I highly suspect the accuracy of these benchmarks.
