Don't go SSD yet. Wait a couple years until they're dirt cheap, they will be don't worry. Right now, grab a Velociraptor or something similar.

i'm going to take the risk, it's only £50 quid and i'm buying only for O/S.

i will also take Rocker's advice and buy either the WD AAKS 640 or 750, will be Raiding in -0 when i need the extra space.

the SSD control chip is supposed to have some issues with unzipping files, which can apparently slow down the drive quite a lot but i will check it out. i'll report back when i've installed O/S on it.

the 30gb SDD will give you the most noticeable difference, while the 640GB is enough to store everything else with a decent speed.
